World Health Worker Week is an opportunity to mobilize communities, partners, and policymakers in support of health workers in our community and around the world. It’s a time to celebrate the amazing work that they do and raise awareness to the challenges they face every day.

Perhaps most importantly, it’s an opportunity to fill in the gaps in the health workforce by calling those in power to ensure that health workers have the training, supplies and support they need to do their jobs effectively.

Our 2019 theme is “Health Workers Are the Heart of Health For All”. In this event we will focus on honoring the contributions of our health workers at our two health facilities in Unyama and Agonga villages in Gulu District. It’s on this note that we present to you our Health Worker Week champion Mr. Oryang Antimo whose passion and zeal have been outstanding in our provision of healthcare to the community.

Antimo is the In charge for Unyama health facility and has been vital in making sure that the facility is well equipped with drugs and all other necessities. He has also been a key health worker especially in improving maternal health in women, improving nutrition, promoting immunization or providing education around a specific health issue to the community.
