The second edition of Karin’s Annual Marathon has ended in high spirits. Runners and organisations in Gulu, Uganda come together to help raise awareness and funds for great causes. This year we were fighting against the growing rates of NCDs in the district. NCDs are non communicable diseases that can’t be transmitted from person to person, like diabetes, asthma, heart disease and cancer.
Your support was crucial to us. The funds raised will go towards improving availability of affordable basic technologies, facilities and essential medicines required to diagnose and treat NCDs such as diabetes at our general ward in Unyama.
It is our dream as Karin Community Initiative Uganda to ensure that we have a healthy and empowered community. Therefore it is of great importance; constructing, equipping and strengthening health centers and systems that will take us a long way in fighting health problems in our community.
